Programme Overview:
The NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Computing (with Business Management) (L5DC BM) is the second year of the NCC Education degree journey. It builds upon the knowledge gained during the NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC). The qualification introduces students to advanced topics in areas like information systems analysis, database design and development, and the principles of business operations.
The program provides a balance of academic and vocational subjects to prepare students with the necessary knowledge and skills for significant roles in IT and business organizations.
Entry Requirements:
For entry onto the NCC Education L5DC BM qualification, students must have at least one of the following:
- NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (with Business Management) (L4DC BM) or NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC)
- A local or international qualification deemed similar to the NCC Education L4DC BM qualification. This must be agreed upon with NCC Education in advance.
Direct Entry at Other Points: The majority of students are expected to join the NCC Education Information Technology journey at Level 4 or earlier. However, applications will be accepted for entry at any point and will be considered on a case-by-case basis using the following criteria:
- The applicant’s general educational background is appropriate for the level of entry.
- The applicant’s knowledge of computing is both equivalent to, and appropriate for, the level of entry.

- Dynamic Websites: Understand the creation and maintenance of dynamic websites using various web development technologies.
- Database Design and Development: Learn to design, develop, and manage databases to store, retrieve, and manipulate data effectively.
- Information Systems and Organisations: Study the role and impact of information systems within organizations.
- Principles of Business Operations: Understand the fundamental principles that guide business operations and management.
- Business IT Project: Apply knowledge and skills from the course in a practical IT project, demonstrating understanding and capability in computing and business management.

- BA (Hons) Business Computing and Information Systems Top-up Degree, validated and awarded by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)
- BSc (Hons) Business Information Technology Top-up Degree, delivered at Accredited Partner Centres, awarded by the University of Greenwich
- Alternatively, they can pursue careers in the IT industry, such as systems analyst, database administrator, IT project manager, or business IT consultant.
